Graduate Fellow

Queen Spurlock (they/them) holds a Bachelor of Social Work and Writing from Texas Christian University. They are currently a dual degree MSW/MEd student at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. They have experience in public school settings as an assistant counselor/intervention specialist (elementary/k-5th grade students) and college advisor (9th – 12th-grade students). During their time as an assistant counselor, they worked with individual students and groups on behavioral and cognitive issues through social-emotional classes and counseling sessions. As a college advisor, they helped students navigate the college-going process. Aside from providing student services, Queen enjoys listening to music, writing, painting, and traveling/learning about different cultures. They look forward to getting to know and serve our scholars!
